Description
A leaf from a manuscript Missal (the Beauvais Missal), produced in France, circa 1285. The leaf is unfoliated, encompassing the Propers for Saint Mark, Saint Vitalis, and Saints Philip and James. Musical notation is of neumes on a 4 line staff. Decorated with red penwork and illuminated initials in blue, red, and gold with vine-like, organic serifs at the start of prayers.
