Description
A leaf from a manuscript Missal, produced in Limoges, France, circa 1440. The leaf is foliated 157 in a modern hand, encompassing the Proper for Pentecost, including a reading from John 14:23-28. Decorated with red, blue, and black penwork ornamentation, an enlarged, illuminated initial in blue, red, and gold, and floral motif in red, blue, green and gold. Gwara Handlist entry, HL38.
